Homework Program:  2nd Grade to 12th Grade

This program is designed to help not just kids, but also families who struggle during homework time.  The Tutor Team will alleviate the stress of doing homework by coming to your home and working with your children to complete all of their homework assignments.  All homework assignments will be completed by the due dates, if not before.  No more incomplete, overdue or missing homework assignments.

This program promotes discipline in getting your child's assignments completed everyday at a scheduled time.  It also teaches organization and time management skills.  The Tutor Team will work with your children to:
  • Ensure that they have the correct and complete homework assignments by writing all assigned work in an organizer.
  • Complete all homework assignments when they are assigned in order to turn them in on time.
  • Complete all homework assignments with quality.
  • Help in understanding and completing the assignments.
  • Prepare and study for tests and quizzes.
  • Understand and master concepts introduced in school.
  • Ensure that they are organized and prepared for the next school day.

For the Homework program to be the most effective, it is recommended that your child be enrolled three or four times per week.  This program also benefits when children are enrolled for at least one grading quarter of nine weeks.  The Tutor Team's goal is to provide enough consistency in order to form good study habits.  By the end of nine weeks, most students can be independent and perform on their own all the skills that they have learned from The Tutor Team.

Strategic One-On-One Customized Tutoring:  Pre-K to 12th Grade

This program targets the child's academic needs and focuses on those needs in order to help accelerate the learning process and keep up with the material being introduced at school.  The Tutor Team will:
  • Create a customized tutoring program unique to your child's needs.
  • Work with your child to understand and master the concepts.
  • Keep in close contact with your child's teachers to determine areas that your child needs help in the most and to keep consistent with the teacher's teaching methods.
  • Give you progress reports on your child's improvement.

Pre-K to Kindergarten Reading Program

Our Pre-K to Kindergarten Reading program uses the Building Blocks Literacy Model.
Depending on the reading skills that your child already has, we will build a customized lesson . The overall goal is to have your child reading at Kindergarten to First grade level in 6 to 10 months.  This will be better determined after the first 2 sessions.

We do periodic assessments of every 8 weeks and provide you with formal reports to show your child's progress.  We will provide you with your first report after the second week.  This report will include a reading skills assessment of your child and serve as a baseline for monitoring improvement.

The program touches on the following:

  • Desire To Learn To Read & Write
Create an environment where all students see themselves becoming independent readers and writers through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Language Concepts
Foster the ability to read and write words through the use of morning messages, journal entries, sentence building activities, and environmental print.
  • Print Concepts
Teach print concepts by modeling how to write and participating in shared reading and shared writing experiences.
  • Phonemic Awareness
Develop phonemic awareness, including the concept of rhyme, through activities with poetry, rhyming books, tongue twisters, and playing with language.
  • Interesting Words
Extend the list of real-life words that students find personally relevant, such as favorite restaurant names, favorite cartoon characters, and family members.
  • Letters & Sounds
Encourage letter and sound recognition through activities with alphabet books, beginning and ending sounds, and shared writing of predictable charts.

  • Reading Comprehension
Focus on different aspects of the story and aid in the development of fluency through different activities before, while and after they read the story.
